Progressing As A Photographer

February 8, 2012 by Steve DuPree

It has been about two years since I got me a “real” DSLR camera and started to work on becoming a better at capturing light. I love to go back to some of my first images and try to compare them to present day ones. My early pictures have helped me to better understand exposure, composition, depth of field and etc. But sometimes images from my earlier days have helped me in a much more important way. They have help me to open my eyes to my surroundings. To be more aware of sunrise and sunset. To love seeing clouds building up before a summertime storm. Mostly they have opened my eyes to the beauty that is all around me, no matter where I may be at that moment. I sure hope the images to come will continue to do the same.

A storm is a brewing!

Beautiful photo! amazing light streaming down onto the water. I just started my own blog and would love your feedback on it!

Great shot and I couldn’t agree with you more. We photographers should constantly be imagining life through the lens and seeking out great pictures. Are you a SC native or was this just a visit?
